Born and raised in the U.S., Guji came to the Philippines to try his luck in show business. Upon arrival, he was spotted by Admate, the model management arm of FameFactory, which started his prolific career in commercial modeling.

By mid 2008, Guji was signed up by Star Magic of ABS CBN and introduced as part of the Star Magic Circle Batch 16. He was immediately cast in a main role in "Precious Hearts Romance Presents: The Bud Brothers Series", for which he received a nomination for "Best Male-New TV Personality" in the 2009 PMPC Star Awards.
